Hornbach Foundation “People in Need” helps flood victims

Hornbach is launching a companywide donation campaign to support people in the regions affected by flooding. The Hornbach Group companies and the Hornbach families are making additional funds available to the Hornbach Foundation “People in Need”.

Via its "People in Need" Foundation, the Hornbach Group intends to offer financial assistance as well to people affected by the floods. The Hornbach Group companies and Hornbach families will increase the Foundation's funds by Euro 500,000. The South Palatinate-based DIY group has called on its employees to support the donation campaign. Not only that, the company will immediately double all donations made by its staff for this specific purpose.

“We, the Hornbach Group companies and Hornbach families, are shocked by the dramatic consequences of the current flood disaster for many people in Europe. Like in the previous flood disasters in 2002 and 2013, we would like to help colleagues and customers affected by the disaster as quickly as possible – also with addressing longer-term emergencies that go beyond short-term material needs”, commented Albrecht Hornbach, CEO of Hornbach Management AG.

Hornbach Baumarkt AG and Bodenhaus GmbH had previously already announced that they would grant a 20% discount on the entire product range to victims of the flood disaster. This discount is currently available at 28 locations in North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saxony, as well as in Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Austria. Material donations to aid organizations and associations are also possible in liaison with the Hornbach stores on location.

Flood victims wishing to apply for funds from the Hornbach Foundation can find further information at Hornbach-Stiftung@hornbach.com.
