Ad hoc update: Buyback volume for employee share program increased and schedule extended

Bornheim, November 15, 2010. The deadline for the buyback of shares at HORNBACH-Baumarkt-AG in connection with the issue of employee shares in 2010 pursuant to § 71 (1) No. 2 of the German Stock Corporation Act (AktG) is to be extended by two months to the end of the 2010/2011 financial year (balance sheet date: February 28, 2011) and the volume increased by 5,000 to up to 25,000 treasury stock shares. The relevant resolutions were today adopted by the company's Board of Management. This step is necessitated by a reduction in daily trading volumes in company shares compared with the previous year and the pleasing reception employees have accorded to the employee share program.

As explained in the ad-hoc announcement dated August 2, 2010, the share buyback program is being executed in accordance with the safe harbor regulations set out in § 20a (3) of the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG) in conjunction with Regulation (EC) No. 2273/2003 of the European Commission dated December 22, 2003.
